Wiskind's Golden Yu Award Project empowers Sunwoda to set a new benchmark for lithium batteries, adhering to the "lithium" vision and driving a green future!

In 2022, Sunwoda Electronics Co., LTD., one of China's top 500 enterprises and one of the top 100 battery companies in China, made a bold move to establish a new energy industrial park in Zaozhuang, Shandong Province, with an investment of 20 billion yuan. As an important component of the new energy industry, the new energy vehicle industry has taken the leading position in the global market through technological innovation and undoubtedly has become a representative of shaping new quality productivity. 

Project Overview

As a key provincial and municipal project, the Lunan New Energy Industrial Park covers an area of over 1,300 mu and is planned to have an annual production capacity of 50GWh. It is not only the largest lithium battery industrial project in the Lunan region but also carries Zaozhuang's ambition to build itself into the "Lithium Battery Capital of Northern China". In the future, this place will provide core power batteries for leading automakers such as XPeng, NIO and Li Auto, promote the aggregation and upgrading of the entire new energy industry chain, and inject powerful impetus into the green economy.

As a full-cycle service provider for the project's metal enclosure system, Wiskind, with its strong technical capabilities and efficient collaboration, has overcome complex challenges and helped the project win the Silver Award of the "Building Waterproofing Industry Science and Technology Award - Engineering Technology Award (Golden Yu Award)" in 2024, once again fulfilling its firm commitment to "quality delivery".

Complex design, ingenious breakthrough

The walls of the project are made of Wiskind COLORPOD ® double-sided rock wool sandwich panels laid vertically. The widths of the panels are 1,000mm and 1,200mm, and the seams are 0mm and 20mm. Light gray and dark gray are interlaced. Although the complexity of the mixed design of 8 types of panels has led to a 30% reduction in construction efficiency, the Wiskind team still adheres to lean construction. It independently corrected a few structural errors and ultimately presented an industrial art effect of interwoven excellent blocks, transforming the client's "high-standard visual requirements" into "unexpected implementation results".

Challenges increase suddenly, but the mission must be accomplished

In the face of temporary and urgent tasks during the critical construction period, the Wiskind team responded promptly, with all members working together to smooth out the entire chain from production to transportation and construction. Through the production line's rush to complete orders, precise allocation at the logistics end, and the on-site team working around the clock, they achieved an unexpected delivery with "seamless relay" and empowered customer demands through efficient collaboration.

Precise environmental control leads to energy conservation and efficiency improvement

To meet the requirements of the battery cell workshop to maintain a constant temperature of 23℃, ±5℃, and a humidity of no more than 20%, Wiskind customized 75mm thick COLORPOD ® double tongue and groove polyurethane edge-sealed rock wool insulation board. Its excellent heat insulation effect and air tightness effectively prevent the exchange of cold and heat from the outside, reducing the energy consumption of the building to maintain a constant temperature and humidity. Build a solid barrier for the stability of battery production at Sunwoda's factory.

Ingenious roof design, unafraid of tests

The roof system is equipped with a full-length plate-type vertical seam roof system, which is connected to the secondary structure through sliding supports to release the internal stress caused by thermal expansion and contraction, and has a high wind load resistance capacity and durability. High-precision pre-punching technology is applied at the eaves, lap joints and roof ridges, and the mother ribs are pre-injected with sealant, which can effectively resist the capillary seepage problem caused by the freezing and thawing of snow, and ensure the waterproofing of the roof.

Wings of light and shadow, natural coexistence

The 66 round-arched skylights on the roof reshape the light environment of the workshop with a lighting area of 2,600 square meters. The round-arched skylights feature a nail-free and adhesive structure on the curved top, which is waterproof. Moreover, the arc shape effectively reduces wind pressure resistance, effectively meeting the lighting requirements in the workshop and providing excellent waterproof performance. They have become a green symbol of the building that combines functionality and aesthetics.

Quality genes, full-chain control forges industry benchmarks

For this project, the Wiskind project department has specially formulated a quality plan and quality control implementation measures. With the goal of achieving a 100% first-time inspection pass rate, we have established a full-process quality monitoring plan covering several aspects such as engineering design, material supply, production processing, and construction installation. Hierarchical control, segmented supervision, unified declaration, and target decomposition for quality management, with the responsibility for project quality being implemented layer by layer from each department to each team of the project. After the project is completed, a warranty and service team will be established. This is not only Wiskind's requirement for the quality system but also one of the important conditions for helping to achieve the quality goals of the Lunan New Energy Project.
